Akina transportation nō ka ‘oi

During the Maui Film Festival in Wailea, Akina provided the bus and shuttle service for the first time. Previously this was done by Roberts.

What an incredible difference! The Roberts drivers were very efficient—point A to point B, no additional stops, no exceptions for anybody, for any reason, ever!

This year, three film festival volunteers and I were a bit stranded after midnight at the festival and couldn’t find the volunteer shuttle driver to the volunteer parking lot. An Akina hotel shuttle driver saw our plight and graciously offered to drive us to the volunteer parking lot. Not only did he do that with a warm and eager smile, he also shined his headlights and waited for the women to safely get into their cars.

That is the aloha spirit in action. That is the difference between an O‘ahu mega-corp and a family-owned Maui business.

And that is what makes Maui nō ka oi. Mahalo nui loa to the Akina transportation guys. Thanks for being a part of the heart of Maui.
