The Associated Press - Hawai'i bankruptcy filings dropped for the seventh straight month. Federal data shows there were 260 bankruptcy cases filed in October, down 13 percent from the same month last year. That puts the state on track for the first annual decline in filings since 2006. Through the first 10 months of the year, there was a 13.4 percent decline from the same period in 2010. Hawai'i County saw the biggest drop with filings falling 34 percent from a year earlier, from 55 to 36; O'ahu's filings fell 22 percent, from 177 to 138; Maui County's filing increased 38 percent, from 53 to 73; and filings in Kaua'i County rose 8 percent from 12 to 13.
