New Leadership Inducted at Rotary Club of Kihei Sunrise

Patty Hemmen was recently inducted as president of the Rotary Club of Kihei Sunrise.

Officers and board of directors serving with Emery include: President Elect and Treasurer Christine Pawliuk, Secretary Judy Gray, Sergeant at Arms Gary Paul, Community Service Director John Musser, Immediate Past President and Club Service Director Jane Emery, New Generations Director Joanne Doell, International Service Director Jon Schlobohm, Rotary International Foundation Chair Larry Laird, Club Foundation Treasurer Margie Flores, Vocational Service Director Pat Colemen, and Fundraising and Public Relations Chair Joanne Laird.

Assistant District Gov. Laird presided over the induction ceremony, where club members received their 2012-13 Rotary International (RI) "Peace Through Service" pins.

In her president's message, Hemmen challenged all club members to reach out to the community and provide support in all avenues of service.

For the past six consecutive years, the Rotary Club of Kihei Sunrise earned the Small Club of the Year award in RI District 5000. (See "Two Maui Rotary Clubs Capture Major Awards" on this page.)

The Rotary Club of Kihei Sunrise--one of nine clubs on Maui--meets on Wednesday mornings at 7:30 a.m. at the Five Palms Restaurant in the Mana Kai Maui Resort.
