At the Club Hair salon, every day is a good hair day.

The economy may be on the mend, but for many, a dollar earned is still a dollar saved and every penny counts. All clichs aside, many savvy, cost-conscious consumers have found ways to shave off extraneous expenses: from changing the oil in their cars themselves to repairing home appliances via a YouTube video. However, amid this do-it-yourself trend, there's one thing that seems to eclipse frugality.

Our hair.

No matter your age, gender or occupation, hair tends to be a non-negotiable line item in our monthly (or, in some cases, weekly) household budget. Why are our tresses such a top priority?

For a new look, or maintenance of an existing one, Club Hair in Wailuku offers a wide range of products and services that will leave you loving your locks.

Just ask licensed cosmetologist Carolyn Czar-Delima, owner of Club Hair in Wailuku.

"My clients look forward to a salon experience where they can unwind and relax," she said. "They leave looking--and feeling--great."

And that's exactly what happens at Club Hair.

"I have been going to Carolyn Czar-Delima for 10 years at Club Hair," said Jeannie Pereira, owner of The Face Place. "Her knowledge, support and personal development in hair design are her strategies for a successful business. Club Hair gets a five star in customer service."

Kyle Fujii agrees. "I get my hair cut with Carolyn at Club Hair once a month because it's the best place on Maui it's such an amazing place, I drive all the way from Pukalani for this experience."

The popularity of Club Hair is credited to Czar-Delima and cosmetologist Claire Parsons, the creative and innovative dream team at the salon. The duo has worked alongside one another for several years, and they share an obvious passion (not to mention, talent) for hair.

"I love my job," said Parsons. "There's nothing else I'd rather do."

Parsons had an eye for hair since she was a young girl; she would brush and braid anyone's hair that was within reach. As a certified Paul Mitchell colorist, stylist and an expert in eyebrow shaping, Parsons now shares her passion for hair with her clientele.

"I always love my hair with Claire," said Maria Moskwa. "She keeps up on the latest trends, listens to what you want and then recommends what will work best for your hair. I always get compliments on my hair."

The same passion drives Czar-Delima, who strives to provide optimum hair care for all types of hair. She also strives to ensure her client's satisfaction.

"That's priority No. 1 for us," said Czar-Delima. "We won't let you leave unless you love your hair."

Both Parsons and Czar-Delima stay on top of the cutting-edge trends in the industry, attending continuing education workshops and classes several times a year. Club Hair also provides color corrective services. Czar-Delima and Parsons are masters when it comes to correcting a bad dye job or a patchy haircut. For a new look, or maintenance of an existing one, Club Hair offers a wide range of services that will leave you loving your locks.

In addition to cut, color and styling, Czar-Delima and Parsons offer a five-step cleaning system specifically designed to remove cosmetic and medical residue, conditioning color shine and scalp treatments--and much more. The stylists also pamper their clientele with a signature scalp massage that will cause the weight of the world to simply slip down the drain.

The salon also offers a diverse line of hair care products, including the Allegretti Hair Color line, Paul Mitchell, Iden Treatment, Macadamia and VIDA, a line that is designed for all ethnicities.

But what makes Club Hair a cut above the rest is its congenial ambiance.

"When you enter the salon, you feel welcome, relaxed and cared for and that the appointment is all about me," said Cindy Ishimoto, a client of Parsons. "I value the experience of a one-on-one salon and Claire's full attention she gives me the impression she is not in a hurry for me to leave for the next client--no rush."

For those of us who eschew the aloof atmosphere of the trendy "urbanite" salon, Club Hair offers an inclusive and gracious environment.

"We want to make everyone feel at home and at ease," said Czar-Delima.

And they do.

Club Hair is located at 210 Imi Kala St., Ste. 210, in Wailuku, and welcomes men, women and children.

Ready for a new look this holiday season? Czar-Delima said Club Hair has a gift certificate for everyone on your holiday gift list--and everything on your beauty wish list.
