St. John's Episcopal Church in Keokea has appointed the Rev. Kerith Harding to be the priest-in-charge of the Upcountry congregation.
The selection process, culminating in Pastor Harding's accepting St. John's call, took more than two years. During that time, Father David Moore was appointed by Bishop Robert Fitzsimmons as the interim minister to help with the transition from the church's longtime rector, Rev. Heather Mueller, who retired after 29 years in September 2010.
Pastor Harding comes to St. John's after serving as the assistant rector at Christ and Holy Trinity Church, in Westport, Conn. She is a native of Connecticut, but she has family on Maui. Her aunt, Debbie, and uncle, Maui native Bob Takahashi, live in Wailuku.
