Ring in the New Year At Sea

December 27, 2012
The Maui Weekly

Ring in the New Year aboard a fun and festive starlight cruise with Pacific Whale Foundation, featuring live island musical entertainment, complimentary drinks, a champagne toast and fabulous food. Nature adds in a nearly full moon and brilliant stars reflecting upon the vast Pacific. In all, it's a unique, island-style way to ring in 2013. You can choose from two cruise options: a New Year's Eve Cocktail Cruise from Ma'alaea Harbor (with views of the South Maui fireworks) or a New Year's Eve Dinner Cruise from Lahaina Harbor.

The New Year's Eve Cocktail Cruises depart at 10:15 p.m. and 10:45 p.m. These two-hour cruises travel along the South Maui coast, where you'll enjoy fabulous at-sea viewing of the Wailea Resort fireworks, plus the many informal aerial displays in Kihei--without the smoke and noise. You will also be treated to an array of tantalizing appetizers, including Filet Mignon Medallions, Sustainable Shrimp Cocktail, Crudite Platter with Roasted Garlic Ranch Dip, Maui Onion and Spinach Dip and Taro Rolls and Crackers.

The ticket price is $79.95 per person, which also includes dessert, juices, sodas and iced-filtered water. Adults (over age 21 with valid photo ID) may enjoy up to three complimentary cocktails, selecting from red and white wine, locally brewed Maui Brewing Company beer, tropical well drinks and Mai Tais, plus the champagne toast. Frozen blended cocktails are also available for purchase. The festive New Year's Eve late night dinner cruise also features live island-style entertainment, as well as a chef-prepared four-course dinner with two entrees grilled fresh on board. The dinner features locally grown produce from Maui farms; locally caught seafood; plus tantalizing steaks (of 100 percent grass-fed beef) and teriyaki chicken, grilled fresh onboard. It's all served tableside by an attentive crew. Best of all, everyone is guaranteed outdoor seating, for the best views of the tropical night sky.
