Maui Breakfast Club radio show cancelled

January 3, 2013
The Maui Weekly

The last show of the Maui Breakfast Club on KNUI AM 900 was broadcast on the morning of Dec. 28.

The Pacific Radio Group (PRG), which owns the station, has cancelled the show and will initiate a mostly satellite-feed news format with limited live programming.

"During the past two years, we have broadcast over a thousand hours of live programming, interviewed hundreds and hundreds of guests and covered every topic from the needs of Maui's nonprofits to a live telephone interview on the overthrow of President Mubarac of Egypt," said Tom Blackburn-Rodriguez, co-host of the show.

"Mahalo to a terrific co-host, Kellie Pali-Cruz, our listeners, sponsors, guests and the support we have received from the management and owners of the PRG."

Blackburn-Rodriguez asks listeners to check the Maui Breakfast Club Facebook page for updates on plans for a new show in the months ahead.
