With a "class for every age," the Exergy35 Fitness Studio/Dojo specializes in basic self-defense for keiki, youth, women and seniors. Classes are held in a fun environment, where students learn the fundamentals of self-defense while increasing flexibility, creative movement and developing reflexes.
Classes are held in the studio in the Island Surf Building, 1993 S. Kihei Road, Ste. 15, and across the street at Kalama Park.
Exergy35 owner Sifu Kalimaya Herrera is also the vendor coordinator for Kihei Fourth Fridays, and he is commissioned to the activities and care of keiki and youth at the event.
The Exergy35 Fit Team embarks to share aloha with people of all ages through active and directed movements.
"I am here to serve and share my gifts and talents with my Maui community," said Sifu Herrera.
A dedicated teacher, trainer and performer, Herrera is grateful for being recognized as a role model in Hawai'i by providing creative fitness, cultural and physical educational programs.
Herrera teaches classes in creative dance movements using martial arts discipline, hula, tai chi drills, stick fighting, flexibility, breathing techniques, Chinese ribbon/silk fans dance, balance and meditation programs.
Join Herrera at the Kihei Fourth Friday Town Party at Azeka Shopping Center-Mauka on Feb. 22 from 6 to 9 p.m. for their special Chinese New Year celebration.
