The Maui County Veterans Council is the latest in a long line of nonprofit organizations to benefit from the recycling of usable items through Aloha Shares Network. Dr. Till Hansen of Hawaiian Endocrine Associates Inc. in Wailuku recently donated a swim-spa to Aloha Shares, and the Veterans Council was selected as the recipient. The council is auctioning off the unit to the highest bidder to support its veterans programs.
Maui County nonprofits can all benefit from donations from Aloha Shares. Nonprofit organizations can register on the Aloha Shares Network at www.alohashares.org., and sign up to receive email notifications of donations. Nonprofits may choose to use the items donated or sell them to raise funds.
A donor registration form is also provided on the Website. Donors can choose whether the item may be sold (or not). The donor can get a tax receipt for the donation from the nonprofit organization.
