On Wednesday, March 13, Maui Canoe Club received a donation of $1,000 from Alexander & Baldwin Inc. to support the club's recreational and cultural programs. Specifically, the purpose of the contribution is to assist with the Maui Canoe Club's efforts to improve their infrastructure by increasing the number of outrigger canoes to serve both Maui residents and visitors to the island.
"We extend our appreciation to you and your fellow volunteer board leaders, and to all of your paddlers--and extend our best wishes for safe and fun paddling," said A&B Senior Vice President of Government & Community Relations Meredith J. Ching.
"On behalf of all of our members, Maui Canoe Club is very pleased to receive this generous donation from Alexander & Baldwin," said Michael Elam, president of the Maui Canoe Club. "A&B's commitment to helping our club continue to provide recreational paddling opportunities for our members and visitors is a great benefit to our club as well as to our community."
