Visitors and residents fed up

March 28, 2013
Kurt Butler - Wailuku , The Maui Weekly

Al Yakimchuk, the disillusioned visitor from Manitoba, summed up may pet peeves in his commentary ("Dreams of Maui Crash on the Shore of Harsh Reality," March 14-20 issue): speeding, road rage, sidewalks made unsafe by skateboarders and bicyclists, dog crap on the beach, insane levels of noise pollution from Harleys (and those noisy, smelly, two-cycle scooters), and an unprofessional police force that does a poor job of preventing and controlling crime. It's not only visitors who suffer from these things. We locals are fed up, too.
