Here's a tip for guys and gals living alone and trying to figure out the kitchen thing:
Bananas have a three-day window. They are either too green or too ripe. Once the green is gone, you have only about three days to act. When the brown specks start to appear, you blew it and you should find someone who knows how to make banana bread.
You have three choices when that banana "window" comes:

1.Eat the banana now; or
2.Peel the banana and freeze it for a future smoothie; or
3.Put the banana immediately in the refrigerator. It might not look so good as it chills, but it will last another week and it will taste almost the same as when you chilled it once you peel off that cold black skin.
