Hospice Maui has been presented with a matching grant challenge that will help to raise needed funds in support of Hospice Maui's five-bedroom Hospice Home, Hale Ho'olu'olu. Generous community members Lloyd and Barbara Amundson have pledged to match all new gifts made to this project, up to $25,000--which could lead to a combined donation of $50,000. The Amundsons hope that their offer to match all new gifts will inspire other Maui residents make a donation toward this important project.
Currently, there is not a hospice residence on Maui.
"We feel this wonderful facility is a needed addition for the people of Maui," stated the Amundsons, "and we are blessed to help them in some small way."
The total cost of the Hospice Maui Facilities expansion is $3.5 million. With this offer to essentially double the impact of each donation, Hospice Maui should be able to surpass the halfway mark in its fundraising goals for this project by December.
"No amount is too small, and every donation will be matched until we reach the $25,000 challenge goal," said Hospice Maui CEO Greg LaGoy. The challenge will end on Dec. 1.
