Enjoy a contemporary Hawaiian lu'au oceanfront and under the stars at Kokua for Kupuna, Hale Makua Health Services' signature fundraiser, on Saturday, Sept. 28, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa.
Featured entertainment will include spectacular hula performances and fire dancing by Tihati Productions, as they share Hawai'i's history and culture through the art of storytelling.
In addition to a lu'au dinner, guests will be treated to tropical libations, beer, wine, an exciting silent auction and free parking.
Hale Makua Adult Day Health client Jean Kenar enjoys a visit from Ginger.
Proceeds will benefit Hale Makua Long-Term Care residents who cannot afford the cost of nursing home care.
This year's theme, Living Legacies, will celebrate the event's 25th year, and recognize individuals and businesses in the community whose commitment to Hale Makua Health Services has helped the organization to sustain a 67-year legacy of providing care to those who have no one to care for them and no means to pay for care.
This year, Hale Makua Health Services will honor long-time supporter First Hawaiian Bank, which, in addition to being a sponsor of this event for the past 13 years, has helped enable the completion of Hale Makua Kahului's 16-bed rehabilitation wing and 118-bed Weinberg Care Center.
Tickets are $100 for adults and $1,200 for a reserved table of 10 with premium seating, and can be purchased by calling (808) 871-9283 or visiting www.halemakua.org.
