The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Aloha Chapter will host a planned giving workshop on the Maui on Friday, Oct. 4, from 8 a.m. to noon.
AFP partnered with the Planned Giving Council and the Pacific Philanthropy Partners for this rare opportunity for Maui fundraisers, development professionals, nonprofit executive directors and board members.
The workshop, "Legacy for a Lifetime: The Path to Life Long Giving," will provide attendees with an opportunity to expand their general planned giving knowledge, learn new skills they can apply in their organizations, and network with peers and industry leaders to share ideas, information and solutions.
"We are excited to be offering this much-valued workshop to our Maui fundraising members and peers," said Sarah Tenney, CFRE, EMBA and Aloha Chapter board president. "We realize a strong need for more training for fundraising professionals on our Neighbor Islands and this event is an example of what we want to offer."
The workshop will take place at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center at 1 Cameron Center Way in Kahului. The fee for AFP members is $50; non-members pay $65. A group discount for three or more is offered for $45 each.
By extending educational events to the Neighbor Islands, the chapter hopes to increase awareness of its 30th anniversary and new strategic plan, which includes strengthening education and engagement of fundraising professionals and nonprofit staff statewide.
