Hosted by LahainaTown Action Committee and the county Office of Economic Development, "Halloween in Lahaina" returns to world-famous Front Street on Thursday, Oct. 31, with a family-friendly event for the residents and visitors of Maui.
Highlights include the 35th Annual Keiki Halloween Costume Parade at 4:30 p.m. sponsored by the Lahaina Rotary Club, Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunrise and the West Maui Soroptimists. Maui keiki are invited to come in costume and parade down Front Street to Banyan Tree Park to receive a congratulatory ribbon and bag of treats.
Music will be provided by the Lahainaluna High School Marching Band.
Honu Seafood & Pizza and Mala Ocean Tavern owners Mark Ellman and his wife, Judy, sponsor LahainaTown Action Committee’s costume contest every year.
Live entertainment at Campbell Park begins at 6 p.m. featuring The Benny Uyetake Band.
"Halloween in Lahaina" is supported by Lahaina merchants and the sales of the "official" Halloween T-shirt, which is on sale now at the Lahaina Visitor Center in the Old Courthouse (open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and at Campbell Park on Halloween starting at noon.
All are invited to join in the keiki activities at Campbell Park and enter the Costume Contest Halloween night at Banyan Tree Park from 7 to 9 p.m. Sign up begins at 6 p.m. at the Pioneer Inn retail store on Hotel Street, adjacent to the main stage in Banyan Park.
Deejay Ron will be spinning the tunes at the Costume Contest from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Honu Seafood & Pizza and Mala Ocean Tavern are sponsoring the contest and awarding the grand price of $1,000.
Ono "grindz" will be available for purchase from 4 p.m. in Campbell Park.
