Six church leaders and their congregations met on Wednesday evening, Jan. 22, at Saint Theresa Church in Kihei for a service to pray for Christian unity. Putting aside denominational differences was the keynote of the prayer service. The clergy reminded the gathering that, to a very large degree, the unity that Christ prayed for does exist among genuine believers and it is a unity that transcends denominational lines.
"There are always going to be disagreements," said Rev. Austin Murray from Trinity-By-The-Sea Episcopal Church. "However, as one body in Christ, we share an amazing degree of unity."
