The 15th Annual Fundraiser Pa'ina for Hale Kau Kau will be held on Saturday, March 1, beginning at 4 p.m. at the Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa in the Aulani Ballroom.
"Music Feeds the Soul" is again the theme for the benefit for this South Maui program that feeds the needy and homebound elderly and disabled with a heaping portion of compassion and aloha.
Asian Blend, Maui's popular island-style, contemporary, six-piece band, will provide musical entertainment for listening and (new this year) dancing. The cost of attendance includes a wonderful Pacific Rim-style dinner, live and silent auctions, and entertainment throughout the evening.

Hale Kau Kau, "House of Meals," is a nonprofit program of Saint Theresa Church in Kihei that offers warm, nutritious meals every day to the needy, both on-site and through deliveries to the homebound elderly, ill and disabled in South Maui.
This service is made possible almost entirely by volunteers in the community, who for 22 years have given generously of their time and talents to help the less fortunate in the community. "Never missed a day" is what they say.
The annual fundraiser pa'ina is a significant source of funds to keep the program operating, providing approximately one-third of the program's budget.
In a letter inviting continued support from donors, Rev. Msgr. Terrence A.M. Watanabe, executive director of Hale Kau Kau and pastor of Saint Theresa Church, stated that there is a continued demand for meals being served, with an annual total over 57,000.
"There continues to be a significant need for our assistance to the many members of our community who are hurting," said Rev. Msgr. Watanabe. "We are so grateful to the volunteers from the community. We are delighted that other churches in South Maui join the effort, most notably, Kihei Lutheran Church, Trinity by the Sea Episcopal Church and Keolahou Hawaiian Church, by providing support in many ways, including membership on the Hale Kau Kau Advisory Board."
As in the past, the Maui community is invited to participate in the fundraiser in a number of ways: through table sponsorships, by advertising in the event program, with donations of items for the auction, and attendance at the fundraiser. Table sponsorships and advertising for companies and individuals are available in a range of prices with special recognition and amenities.
Tickets are $100 each and may be purchased during business hours at the Hale Kau Kau Office, 25 West Lipoa Street (at Saint Theresa Church). Call-in and email orders are accepted.
