On Tuesday, April 1, find out "how they did it" from four Maui entrepreneurs who created highly successful retail businesses on Maui. They will share the bad times and the good, valuable insights and gems of advice. Attendees will learn about the different challenges they faced in each stage of their business growth.
The Maui Business Brainstormers (MBB) event will be held at Kahili Golf Course from 5 to 8:45 p.m. and dinner will be included.
"The road to success for a business owner is tough--much work, sacrifice and risk," said Grace Fung, a MBB volunteer co-organizer. "These fascinating stories of success will empower those on the path or poised to start."
(Left to right) Charles Spence of Maui Sunseeker, George Kahumoku Jr. of Slack Key Show LLC, Les Tomita of Da Kitchen, and David Yamashiro and Iris Lin of Ululani’s Shave Ice will be the featured speakers at Maui Business Brainstormers’ Masters of Retail Success event.
The guest speakers are Charles "Chuck" Spence, owner of the Maui Sunseeker; George Kahumoku Jr., owner of the Slack Key Show LLC; Les Tomita, head chef and co-owner of Da Kitchen Caf; and David and Ululani Yamashiro, the heart of Ululani's Hawaiian Shave Ice LLC.
Their stories will include: how they got inspired, how big mistakes led to new ideas for their businesses, fears they overcame and how they beat the odds and trends. They will also share what they have done to increase brand visibility and connect with customers, and how they reinvent themselves to stay abreast of the times.
MBB members (and their guests) pay $27 until Friday, March 21, or $35 after that date. Non-members pay $45. Self-parking is free.
