Rotary Club of Maui Donates Dictionaries

April 24, 2014
Maui Weekly

In what has become an annual event, St. Anthony Junior-Senior High School Interact Club members Vanessa Coloma, Jonathan Ibanez and Yusuke Yamagami delivered "Student Dictionaries" to the St. Anthony Grade School. The dictionaries were donated by The Rotary Club of Maui.

The students thumbed through the dictionaries as soon as they were received, and shared information they found about the solar system, presidents, U.S. and world maps, sign language and the "longest word in the English language" (1,909 letters).

The Rotary Club of Maui is the oldest Rotary club on the island, chartered in 1937. It is the sponsor club for the St. Anthony Junior-Senior High School Interact Club, which is the oldest Interact club on the island. Interact clubs are made up of youth ages 12 to 18.
