Kickball Teams Should Prepare for Next Season

Lastly, as many of you know, the Maui County Parks Department no longer runs adult leagues. So, a big mahalo goes out to Ty Westphal for taking over the very popular Adult Coed Kickball League. Ty's Kickball League games were held on Sunday evenings. Play concluded for the season on Sunday, May 18. The popularity of the league keeps growing, so put a team together and get ready for next season, which will start in March 2015.

Contact Ty at 344-9440.

BATTER UP!

Another mahalo goes out to Lyle Cummings for taking over the just-as-popular and much-longer-running Men's Open Slow Pitch Softball League and Makule (40 and over) League.

Lyle's Open League games are played at the South Maui Community Park field on Wednesday and Thursday nights; Makule games are on Tuesday nights.

Go check out some games, but get there early. The parking lots fill up quickly. The first games begin at 6 p.m.

Also in Lyle's plans, but not yet confirmed, is a second Men's Open League later this year, a Sunday afternoon Women's League, followed by a Coed League and a 50-and Over League.

If you have a softball team looking for a league in Kihei, Lyle is definitely the man to talk to. Contact him at 357-3711.

We are always looking for volunteers to help officiate games. Just bring your shoes, and a willingness to help out--we'll supply the whistles. For information on any of our programs, call the South Maui Parks office at 879-4533, or check out our South Maui Parks Facebook page.
