Hui No'eau Visual Arts Center will present Solo Artist Exhibition 2014, featuring new work by artists Jodi Endicott and Shane Robinson on Saturday, Aug. 16, through Sept. 18.
The Hui No'eau's Solo Artist Exhibition offers the unique opportunity for artists to be personally involved in the creation and installation of a cohesive body of new work.
Robinson (from Maui) will present "Iterations," which uses the universal language of mathematics as a familiar foundation from which the viewer can connect with pieces of a more conceptual and minimal nature.
Shane Robinson’s “Iterations” uses the universal language of mathematics as a familiar foundation from which the viewer can connect with pieces of a more conceptual and minimal nature.
Endicott (from O'ahu) will present "The Market," which explores the stock market as a metaphor for ups and downs of the human experience and the search for balance. Endicott will also integrate an interactive component to her exhibition in which viewers will have the opportunity to bid on the chance to own a specific art piece created by Endicott for a one-year period. Endicott is generously donating the funds raised through this auction to the hui and will give viewers the ability to vote on a project to receive this financial support.
Hui No'eau Visual Arts Center is open to the public daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with free admission. For more information, call (808) 572-6560.
